Project Description

The Netherlands Embassy project involved the adaptation of the existing structure with a focus on sustainable strategies, aligning with the design concept by Dutch architect Rudy Uytenhaak. Sustainable features were integrated throughout the embassy, optimizing daylight, utilizing solar panels for lighting, implementing shading to mitigate heat, and incorporating a rainwater harvesting system to preserve the garden. Additionally, the pool serves as a thermal storage tank, and sustainable furniture and local building materials were utilized. This project stands as one of the first green non-domestic buildings in Jordan and achieved LEED silver certification, setting a benchmark for sustainable design and serving as a case study to educate and raise awareness about green buildings.
