ERBIL RING ROAD

The Erbil Ring Road spans 70 kilometers, encircling the city with a sophisticated 8-lane freeway designed for optimal safety and efficiency. To impart distinctiveness to each of the five main interchanges while honoring the site’s natural geomorphology, the design strategy involved the strategic placement of trees, shrubs, ponds, gravel, and pebbles along key roads. This meticulous approach not only enhances visual coherence but also enhances the entrances to existing communities and preserves sightlines to significant landmarks. Moreover, the design accommodates the anticipated city expansion, leaving room for future utilities.
