Project Description

The Queen Alia International Airport Road project involved a comprehensive upgrade of existing infrastructure to enhance connectivity and safety. The project, spanning from 2004 to 2011, entailed replacing the existing 4-lane road and steel guardrails with a modern 6-lane limited access highway featuring concrete barriers. Feasibility and environmental studies were conducted alongside the design process to ensure sustainable development practices. The project included the design of pedestrian bridges, street lighting systems, a stormwater management system, road landscaping, and street furniture. Additionally, the design incorporated a 2-lane service road on both sides of the main highway to improve accessibility and safety, with proper connections facilitated by strategically positioned underpasses.
